Guided Tour of the Primate´s Palace & Welcome Drink and Guided City Tour

The guided tour of the Primate´s Palace and the ACE‘16 Welcome drink start at 16.00 at the Primate's square (meeting point is at 15.45 in front of (by Welcome drink in the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel). These The guided tour will take place in the Primate’s Palace in the Old Town of Bratislava which is now office of the Mayor of Bratislava.

The Primate‘s Palace (in Slovak: Primaciálny palác) is a neoclassical palace built from 1778 to 1781 for the Archbishop József Batthyány. The palace and mainly its Hall of Mirrors hosted many important events. Perhaps the most famous of them is the signing of the fourth Peace of Pressburg after the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805 which effectively ended the War of the Third Coalition.

Primate's Palace

At 17.30, it will continue with the guided city tour. Its main targets are the St. Martin's Cathedral and the medieval city of Bratislava.

St. Martin's Cathedral is the largest and one of the oldest churches in Bratislava, known especially for being the coronation church of the Hungarian Kings between 1563 and 1830.

Symposium Banquet

The Symposium Banquet will take place in the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel. Its starts with cultural program (performance of the "Technik") in Carlton Hall at 18.30.

Performance of the Slovak State Traditional Dance Company „Technik“

Folklore ensemble Technik STU ranks into the oldest folklore ensembles in Slovakia. In its creation, it focuses on scenic processing of Slovak national heritage, videlicet customs, songs, music and costumes.

Presently, the ensemble has 68 members.  It consists of musical section, female singing group and numerous dance section. Members of the ensemble are students of both high schools and universities of Bratislava, but also working youth, all of which are united in admiration and respect for Slovak folklore – beautiful heritage of our ancestors.

Closing Ceremony

The last official social event of the ACE16 Symposium will be the Closing Ceremony at the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel at 15.30 on June 3rd.
